The commencement of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games is almost here and the Olympic city museum which is located in the north of Rio de Janeiro, near the Olympic Stadium has opened its doors to visitors with a special new addition in the form of Virtual Reality.
The Digital Centre at the Museum is welcoming visitors from all over the world to check out state-of-the-art Virtual Reality technologies while also visiting venues and attractions all across the city.
The Olympic city Museum also known as the Museu Cidade Olimpica holds and showcases virtual reality systems as the major star attractions. The visitors are made to experience the rich heritage of Olympic Games through Virtual Reality. There are special VR headsets for visitors offering an escapade to spectacular aerial footage of Rio recorded from helicopters along with mesmerizing footage captured from the Olympic regions of the city such as Deodoro, Barra, the rejuvenation city centre, the Sugarloaf Mountain and the Copacabana beach.
The renovated Museum uses the extensive space for interactive Digital and Multimedia technology where visitors can learn and experience the spirit of the Olympic Games trying their hand at the various disciplines in front of a giant screen.
The opening ceremony of the Museum was held on Tuesday in the presence of the mayor of Rio de Janeiro Eduardo Paes and Carlos Nuzman, President of the Organizing committee of the Olympic Games 2016.
