Xiaomi Enters into Virtual Reality

Xiaomi the 4th largest Chinese Smartphone company is riding the high tide after the launch of Xiaomi range of Smartphones in India in 2015. And now the Chinese tech company is all set to enter the race of virtual reality innovation and business in 2016.

Xiaomi in its first five years of life span has developed an impressive portfolio with numerous other products under its hood, such as Xiaomi routers, Power banks, TV Box, Set-Top box and Fitness bands. At a recent Press conference, Xiaomi CEO Lie Jun announced that the company will soon be entering other ventures such as Virtual Reality and Robotics.

As per sources, it is also said that Xiaomi is planning to construct a specialized R&D Lab for its Virtual Reality unit. However, it is yet to be revealed the kind of products Xiaomi will produce under VR.

Rumor has it that Lenovo set to launch its new Smartphone Lenovo K4 Note with a VR headset has had Xiaomi on its feet to compete with the giants in the race. Although Xiaomi is mainly into Mobile Technology, there are speculations that Xiaomi will be producing headsets to support PC gaming as well.

Even though the young company has gained a lot of fame in the previous year and has big plans and promises to set foot in the Virtual Reality and Robotics business, the company, as per analytic also faced a revenue loss after failing to sell its flagship and futuristic Smartphone well in the market.

However, there is still chance for Xiaomi to spark off flames as the company is set to launch its next big product Xiaomi Mi5 in February 2016 which is loaded with superlative specifications such as Quad HD display of 5.2-inch, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4 GB of RAM, native storage version of 32 GB and 64 GB, rear and front cameras of 16-meagpixel and 8-megapixel, a fingerprint sensor and 3600 mAh battery.

Well, Xiaomi for now may not be competing neck to neck with the Tech giants like Facebook, HTC, Google and Samsung; however its existence in the competition is bound to push the market for technologically better and affordable VR headsets and other products.
