‘The Solus Project’ by Grip Game and Hourences is a beautiful, atmospheric, yet terrifying VR sci-fi adventure-survival game. Though the Virtual Reality component of this game is still under development, i.e. it is still incomplete and most likely to see changes over time.
‘The Solus Project’ was launched for non- Virtual Reality gamers earlier this year which received a mixed critical response as it was a blend of survival and missing of storytelling mark. And later Hourences and Grip Games gave the biggest update that work is in progress for Virtual Reality support. Though it is not finished technically, but the Virtual Reality experience with Oculus Rift and HTC VIVE does offer a lot more than one can ever expect and do leaves an immersive impression of its alien world.
‘The Solus Project’ judiciously lets the threat of your forthcoming demise fade into the background. You know, what are more important than having enough burgers and Coke to survive? It’s Exploration and a sense of mystique. The Solus Project puts forward a very compelling world in which you can explore secrets so as to unravel. Revealing too much of the story will ruin the sense of unfolding mystery. It wasn’t built with Virtual Reality in mind at first, but the world begs that they want to experience in the Virtual Reality format.
There are some rough edges like Oculus Rift owners are susceptible to simulator sickness and will just have to bear the sufferance through it until Touch support is patched in The Solus Project, but experiencing in Virtual Reality is great. The eerie atmosphere is perfectly built. The game lingers with you long even after removing your headset. There are so many options being provided for comfort and control that supports both high and Virtual Reality offerings. It somehow shows that Virtual Reality developers will do for you.
